Is There a God?

How did the universe come into existence?  This is a question that has mystified people since man could think.  Nature is such an intricate and beautiful thing that some people feel that there must have been some intelligent being who is responsible for its design.  Of course, we refer to this being as God.  And, according to the Bible, the entire universe,  every species of animal, all vegetation, and the first man and woman, were all created in 6 days.

We all know the story of Genesis (at least the general story).  We all know most of the important stories in the Bible.  However,  I just can’t see how anyone can believe the Bible, since we have scientific evidence that disproves it.

I don’t expect to change anybody’s mind as to the existence of God.  The purpose of this blog is simply to allow me to put my thoughts about this subject in one place., and hopefully have a healthy debate about religion and its influence on history and society. I don’t know why, but the subject of religion interests me greatly,  despite (or maybe because of) the fact that I don’t believe in organized religion for myself.
